Most general-aviation aircraft use SIMPLE MECHANICAL wafer/pin ignition and door/baggage locks cut by a factory KEY CODE — not transponders or fobs. We replace lost aircraft keys by the code stamped on the lock or by impressioning. (Cessna’s older locks are well known for low-security, limited code sets.) Always confirm the exact lock and key code on your aircraft — this is a specialized service, so call (214) 717-6398 first to confirm we can help with your specific aircraft.
Aircraft Key FAQ
Do you need the original key?
Not necessarily — if your lock has a stamped key code we can cut to it, and in many cases we can impression a new key from the lock itself. Have your aircraft’s documentation handy.
Are aircraft keys transponder/chipped?
The vast majority of general-aviation aircraft use plain mechanical locks with no transponder. A few newer aircraft use electronic ignition — call so we can confirm yours before we come out.
Can you come to the hangar / FBO?
Yes — we’re fully mobile across the DFW area. Call (214) 717-6398 and we’ll arrange to meet you at your aircraft.
