DFW Keys 4 Cars – Fast Mobile Genesis Locksmith

Lost the smart key to your Genesis G80, GV70 or GV80? Genesis became its own luxury brand in 2017, and every model since runs a push-to-start proximity key — a key only a dealership or a properly equipped locksmith can replace. DFW Keys 4 Cars is fully mobile across the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex: we cut the emergency blade and program a new smart key at your location, usually the same day, at a fraction of dealer cost. Call (214) 717-6398, 24/7.

Why Genesis Keys Require Professional Programming

Every Genesis-brand smart key — from the first G90 to the newest GV80 — runs the Hitag3 ID47 encrypted transponder family. The car will not start unless the fob’s chip is cryptographically paired to the immobilizer, and each fob also carries a laser-cut emergency insert blade that must be precision-machined. Our mobile units carry ID47-capable programming equipment and high-security cutting machines, so we handle spare keys and all-keys-lost jobs on-site — no tow to the dealership.

G80 & GV80 — Same Badge, Different Keys by Year

The Genesis G80 is the brand’s best example of why the model year matters: 2017–2020 cars carried over the Hyundai-era key (SY5DHFNA433 family), while the redesigned 2021+ G80 uses the new 6-button (TQ8-FOB-4F36) or 8-button (TQ8-FOB-4F53) fob with remote parking. The GV70 and GV80 SUVs share the 8-button TQ8-FOB-4F35 key. We confirm the exact part by VIN before dispatching, so the fob is right the first time. Newer models also support Genesis Digital Key on your phone — but a physical programmed fob is still required as the master credential, and that’s what we provide.

G80: One Badge, Two Key Systems

The 2017–2020 G80 carried over its Hyundai-era key (the SY5DHFNA433 family), while the redesigned 2021+ car moved to the new 6-button TQ8-FOB-4F36 or 8-button TQ8-FOB-4F53 fob with remote start and remote parking functions. They look similar in photos; they are not interchangeable. We match the part to your VIN before we dispatch so the technician arrives with the right fob, cuts the emergency insert, and pairs it at your driveway.

GV70 & GV80: The 8-Button TQ8-FOB-4F35

Genesis’s SUVs share the 434 MHz 8-button smart key — lock, unlock, hatch, remote start, lights, park assist. Like every Genesis-brand key it runs the Hitag3 ID47 transponder family, which requires current-generation programming equipment; older tools that handle classic Hyundai ID46 keys can’t touch these. Ours can, and the whole job happens on-site.

Digital Key Is Not a Backup Plan

Newer Genesis models support Digital Key 2 — your phone as a key over NFC/UWB. It’s convenient, but the phone credential rides on the car having a properly enrolled physical fob, and a dead phone plus a lost fob is a bad Tuesday. If your household is down to one physical key, that’s the moment to add a spare — it’s a routine visit now versus an all-keys-lost job later.

Common Genesis Key Problems We Fix

  • Lost the only fob — all-keys-lost programming by VIN, on-site, with ownership verification.
  • Used fob from an online seller won’t pair — many ID47 smart fobs can’t be reused once married to another car; we test and advise before you buy, or supply a fresh one.
  • Fob works intermittently — often the battery or a worn board; we diagnose rather than guess.
  • Emergency blade never cut — many owners discover at the worst time that the insert blade was never machined. We cut it to code in minutes.

Genesis Key FAQ

Is a locksmith really cheaper than the Genesis dealer?

Usually meaningfully so — and always faster than towing the car and waiting for a dealer appointment. You also stay with the car the entire time.

My Genesis was a Hyundai badge (2015–2016 sedan). Can you still service it?

Yes — that DH-platform sedan uses the SY5DHFNA433 smart key we service routinely; it’s the same family the 2017–2020 G80 continued.

Can you program the fob while I’m at work?

That’s the point of mobile service — office parking garages are one of our most common Genesis job sites. Call (214) 717-6398.
